Labor and Employment Law
The firm counsels and trains our clients on contract interpretation and enforcement, progressive discipline, and the rights and responsibilities of management and labor. The firm advises its clients with regard to, among others, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Title VII, the Taylor Law, and the Civil Service Law. In addition, the firm provides its clients with the knowledge they need to comply with these laws and successfully avoid discrimination and other employment related claims.
Our attorneys are well-versed in the increasingly complex area of law which governs the wages, overtime and hours of employees. For instance, our attorneys can assist clients in bringing or defending a claim relating to wages, overtime, gratuities, or hours under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) or the applicable New York State law.
The firm represents public and private sector employers in litigation before federal and state courts, as well as federal, state, and local administrative agencies, including, but not limited to, the New York State Division of Human Rights and the Federal EEOC.
