Economic and Community Development Law Economic and Community Development Law
The firm provides legal services for development and redevelopment activities that involve state and local governing bodies and related public entities. The firm is agency counsel to an Industrial Development Agency and has represented applicants before, town and county industrial development agencies. We offer extensive legal services in the creation of legal and financial strategies for economic and community development projects, as well as business location and expansion projects.

Cemetery Law Cemetery Law
The firm represents several cemeteries, including the largest non-denominational cemetery in the state of New York. The firm also advises and represents its cemetery clients regarding land use, disinterments, and all issues related to their operation under the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law.

Tax Certiorari and Condemnations Tax Certiorari and Condemnations
The firm’s attorneys have experience in handling tax applications and proceedings for all types of properties. We have obtained substantial reductions in assessed values for developers, property owners and managers of commercial, retail and residential buildings. The firm is also experienced in handling all aspects of the condemnation process.

Railroad Law Railroad Law
We have been involved on behalf of clients in many aspects of regulation by the Surface Transportation Board and its predecessor the Interstate Commerce Commission. This includes transactions and other projects for which STB approval or exemption is required.

Labor and Employment Law Labor and Employment Law
The firm counsels and trains our clients on contract interpretation and enforcement, progressive discipline, and the rights and responsibilities of management and labor. The firm advises its clients with regard to, among others, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Title VII, the Taylor Law, and the Civil Service Law. In addition, the firm provides its clients with the knowledge they need to comply with these laws and successfully avoid discrimination and other employment related claims. Our attorneys are well-versed in the increasingly complex area of law which governs the wages, overtime and hours of employees. For instance, our attorneys can assist clients in bringing or defending a claim relating to wages, overtime, gratuities, or hours under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) or the applicable New York State law. The firm represents public and private sector employers in litigation before federal and state courts, as well as federal, state, and local administrative agencies, including, but not limited to, the New York State Division of Human Rights and the Federal EEOC.
